Not Isak or Osimhen: Liverpool Make Contact to Sign ‘Best Striker in the World’

Liverpool have made contact over the signing of Sporting CP striker, and Manchester United and Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres, according to Portuguese outlet Correio Da Manha.

The race to secure the signature of Gyokeres in the summer transfer window is hotting up, with a host of clubs showing an interest in the Swedish centre-forward. A move to the Premier League could be on the cards in the coming weeks or months, with three sides now eyeing the Sporting star.

After an impressive stint in Portugal, Gyokeres could be looking to test himself in a stronger league, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he returned to England before the market closes. Gyokeres enjoyed a strong spell with Coventry City in the Championship before his move to Portugal, and he’s gone from strength to strength since then.

Liverpool Enter Race for Man Utd and Arsenal Target

According to Portuguese outlet Correio Da Manha, Liverpool have now made contract over the potential signing of Sporting CP striker Gyokeres, who is also a target for both Manchester United and Arsenal this summer. Sporting could be open to a sale for a fee of around £68m, but Liverpool aren’t currently prepared to pay that sort of figure.

It will be interesting to see whether Gyokeres, described as the ‘best striker in the world’, would be keen on a move to Liverpool during the summer transfer window, but it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise given their centre-forward options. Darwin Nunez has struggled to set the world alight and has been linked with a departure, so there’s a chance he could slot straight into the starting XI.

Reports have claimed that Gyokeres is keen on a move to Arsenal over Manchester United and has even told friends that he expects to join the Gunners. This was before Liverpool’s interest, so it could be an open race for his signature.
