Liverpool have been linked with a surprise move for Marseille striker Mason Greenwood.
After spending the 2023-24 season on loan at Getafe, Greenwood was sold permanently to Marseille last summer for £26.6 million. The 22-year-old has hit the ground running in France, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists in 22 appearances this season.
Liverpool are among four clubs eyeing his signature. The Reds face competition from Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Barcelona. Aware of Greenwood’s rising value, Marseille have slapped a €75 million (£62 million) price tag on the attacker – a figure that poses a challenge for Barcelona given their financial struggles.
However, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Juventus all have the resources to meet the asking price should they opt for a formal bid.
