Liverpool fans are unhappy with former striker Michael Owen after his recent comments regarding defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 26-year-old is one of three key Liverpool players, alongside Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk who are out of contract at the end of the season.
He has since been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, with the club able to negotiate a potential summer free transfer from January 1st.
Owen, 44, made the move from Anfield to the Santiago Bernabeu back in 2004 and has told Alexander-Arnold to give him a call should he wish to discuss the move.
“Trent’s got my number. A few of the lads have owned horses at my stables, but we generally don’t talk football unless I am working. But I would be at the end of the phone for anyone who wanted to discuss it,” Owen told The Telegraph.
He added: “Some of the best careers have ended on a damp squib without that fanfare. Trent knows the pros and cons. He is a sensible lad. He has to weigh all that up. If he wants to play in that white kit, in that amazing stadium with his mate Jude Bellingham, it must be tempting.”

Michael Owen won’t be welcomed back at Liverpool anytime soon
This isn’t the first time Owen has earned the ire of Liverpool fans, with his move to rivals Man United, the final nail in the coffin of his legacy at the club.
Fed up with their former striker and now club ambassador, they’ve taken to X, formally known as Twitter, to voice their frustrations over his latest comments.
