Fans fume over performances of two Liverpool stars vs Man Utd and call for Arne Slot to take immediate action

Liverpool fans have called on Arne Slot to take immediate action after watching the performances of two players in their 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

The Reds extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to seven points over Arsenal with the draw at Anfield.

Slot’s side went 1-0 down on 52 minutes through Lisandro Martinez’s 52nd-minute strike, but were 2-1 ahead on 70 minutes after Cody Gakpo’s 20-yard effort and Mohamed Salah’s penalty.

Amad Diallo then equalised for United in what was fast becoming an end-to-end second half.

And the visitors almost took all three points in the last minute of the game when Harry Maguire had an opportunity inside the penalty area, but the ball bobbled in front of the England international and his effort cleared the bar.

Liverpool fans were critical of two players in particular after the draw at Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold gave the ball away in the build-up to Martinez’s goal, with the right-back also receiving criticism for failing to close down Bruno Fernandes.

He was taken off by Slot with five minutes to go and replaced by Conor Bradley.

And Andy Robertson also received criticism from Liverpool fans after failing to block Amad’s effort inside the area to make it 2-2.

One Liverpool fan wrote on social media: “No words for this Trent performance. Can not believe he came out for the second half.”

A second said: “Trent Alexander-Arnold was absolutely abysmal today.”

A third wrote: “I’m sorry, Robertson and Trent cannot be our starters anymore.”

And a fourth added: “Robertson needs dropping.”

And a fifth claimed: “Slot had to take Trent off after United scored the first.”

  • Why the fuss about the players? Those that are complaining about those players seems not to understand the rivalry between Liverpool and Man U. The draw is a good game to me. If Maguire have scored that goal what will all of you complaining will be saying? One thing is, you cannot win them all. It’s a good game. The guys tried their best. We’ll be looking ahead for our next match against third place Forest on Tuesday. Hopefully we will correct our mistakes. One thing I want you all to understand is, anytime we’re top six in Premiership, it’s always not easy. YNWA LFC 4 LIFE. I believed.
