Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has played down injury concerns surrounding Alexander Isak, confirming that the striker was substituted as a precaution during their FA Cup defeat to Brighton.
The Swedish forward, who scored in the 2-1 loss, limped off late in the match, raising fears he could miss the upcoming Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

“Alexander Isak had some tightness in his body, but not an injury. The longer it went on, the greater the risk so he was taken off before any problems.
“We need the week to dust ourselves down and regroup, as we have been tested. We had a small squad, we couldn’t get Botman fit and we can’t afford to lose anyone else,” Howe has said.
