Darwin Nunez ‘frustrated’ over role at Liverpool, eyes move to club ‘closer to Latin culture’

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with his role at the club and is open to leaving Merseyside this summer.

The Uruguayan forward, who joined Liverpool from Benfica three years ago, is said to be entertaining offers from clubs that would allow him to be closer to his Latin culture.

Multiple teams are believed to be monitoring Nunez’s situation closely, including Atletico Madrid, who are seeking a replacement for Antoine Griezmann.

Saudi Pro League sides, who had targeted Nunez in the January transfer window, are also thought to be interested in the 25-year-old striker.

Nunez has struggled for consistency under Liverpool manager Arne Slot this season, scoring seven goals and providing six assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

His form has been particularly patchy in the Premier League, with Nunez netting just once in his last seven games.

That goal came in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Southampton on Saturday, but it may not be enough to convince Nunez to stay at Anfield.

With Nunez’s future at Liverpool uncertain, the club may face a battle to keep hold of their talented striker.

A move to Atletico Madrid or a Saudi Pro League side could provide Nunez with the opportunity to be closer to his Latin roots and potentially rediscover his form.
