‘Small things didn’t go for us’: Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on Liverpool defeat

“Obviously disappointed to lose the game,” Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola told Sky Sports after his team lost a home game to Liverpool 2-0.

“When you play against these teams, the small details have to go for you. We hit the post, we had a goal disallowed with a slight offside. Small things that didn’t go for us. It was a chance, but it didn’t happen.

“The misses are key moments, they can make the difference when it’s 1-0. They are quite clear chances. And we haven’t scored against this team, like Liverpool, and we didn’t punish them.

“Today you could see the level of the game, how they performed. It was a high-level game, the players – we should be talking about them.

“Both teams were very good, their players made the difference. It was a high-level game and to win against Liverpool is very difficult.”

Bournemouth have performed admirably under Iraloa this season but they were defeated by Liverpool thanks to a brace by Mohamed Salah.
