Liverpool are reportedly making Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez one of their top priorities for the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Argentina international has been world class for Atletico this season, having previously also shown a lot of potential as a squad player at Manchester City.
Alvarez’s form has really exploded since his move to Spain, though, with the 25-year-old notching up an impressive record of 32 goals and three assists in all competitions for club and country this season.
According to Fichajes, Liverpool are now ready to do anything to land Alvarez, which could even mean offering someone like Darwin Nunez as part of the deal along with cash.

Julian Alvarez transfer would make Liverpool title favourites again
Having just won the Premier League title, a signing like Alvarez this summer would be some statement by Liverpool.
The Reds already have the world class Mohamed Salah in their attack, while Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota aren’t a bad supporting act.
If they had Alvarez up there instead of Nunez, that would be a huge upgrade, and surely make it virtually impossible for anyone to stop the title going back to Anfield for a second season in a row.
Would Julian Alvarez return to the Premier League?
Alvarez has already shown what he can do in English football, having shone for Man City even if he was always behind Erling Haaland in the pecking order.
One imagines Alvarez might well be keen to now come back to the Premier League to prove a point to his former club.
It looks like City might have made a mistake letting him go, and it would really hurt them if he ended up firing rivals Liverpool to another title, and perhaps even a few other major trophies.
