Man City and Man United stars react to Gravenberch’s Liverpool ‘memories’ message

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has taken to Instagram to look back on a momentous season for himself and the club.

In Arne Slot‘s first season in charge at Anfield, the Reds stormed to the Premier League title at a canter, finishing the campaign 20 points clear of second placed Arsenal

was also a success from an individual perspective for a number of their players, including Gravenberch after he was named Premier League Young Player of the Season.

Even so, the campaign did still end on a minor sour note for the midfielder from a football perspective.

Ryan Gravenberch sent off against Crystal Palace

On Sunday (25 May), Liverpool ended their campaign against Crystal Palace at Anfield, with the two sides playing out a 1-1 draw.

The Reds came from behind in that match to earn a point, despite seeing Gravenberch sent off for a last-man challenge on Daichi Kamada.

Despite his own campaign ending with that setback, the midfielder has understandably still be keen to reflect on the campaign as a whole.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the Liverpool star shared a number of pictures from the club’s recent trophy parade, with the caption: “Silverware with the team, celebrations with the city. Memories for life!”

In response, a number of Premier League stars including Man City winger Jeremy Doku, Man United goalkeeper Andre Onana and Aston Villa full-back Ian Maatsen showed their support by liking the post.

Several of Gravenberch’s Liverpool teammates, such as Andy Robertson, Wataru Endo, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cody Gakpo, Dominick Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk would do the same.

Liverpool midfielder will be key again next season

Football Insider Verdict

Following his red card, Gravenberch will be suspended for Liverpool at the start of the 2025/26 campaign as his ban carries over.

Meanwhile, Slot is being tipped to oversee a major squad overhaul at Anfield in this summer’s transfer window [Liverpool News 247].

Despite that, it would be a shock if Gravenberch himself is not again playing an integral role for the club over the course of the coming campaign.

The midfielder’s performances have been so important to his side’s success this season, and one error in a game with nothing riding on it should not change that.

As a result, there should still be a space waiting for Gravenberch in the Liverpool starting XI once his ban has come to an end.
