Liverpool have set their asking price for Luis Diaz amid interest in his services from Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.
Diaz helped the Reds clinch their second Premier League title in five years by scoring 13 goals and creating five assists in 36 top-flight appearances this season.
His most recent goal came during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with second-place Arsenal at Anfield on 11 May, while Cody Gakpo also got himself on the scoresheet that afternoon.
But Arne Slot may have to wave goodbye to the Colombia international, who has made 148 appearances for the Merseyside giants since joining from Porto in 2022.
Liverpool set Diaz asking price amid interest from Al Nassr and Barcelona
Liverpool will be keen to battle for more silverware next term, including the Champions League, after winning the Premier League title in Slot’s first season at the helm.
Meanwhile, talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs revealed via X [29 May]: “Luis Diaz is a leading target for Al-Nassr, and club officials have already requested central funding to make a bid.
Diaz is likely to cost €85million+ (£71.6m), and an exit is by no means guaranteed. Barcelona also have Diaz on their radar.”
Similarly, former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Liverpool could sell Diaz once Florian Wirtz arrives at Anfield
Liverpool set their sights on Anthony Gordon
Wirtz could prove to be an excellent acquisition for the Reds, after notching 10 goals and 12 assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances for Bayer Leverkusen.Luis Diaz statsAll competitions 2024/25Appearances50Goals17Assists5Diaz has been a key asset for Liverpool this term
But while the 22-year-old would add yet more firepower to Slot’s ranks, the attacking midfielder may not be viewed as a direct replacement for winger Diaz.
However, Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool have eyed a move for Anthony Gordon, who has proven his class on the wing for Newcastle United.
The former Everton man has scored nine goals and created six assists in 42 outings across all competitions for Eddie Howe’s side this term, and could prove to be a top asset for the red half of Merseyside.
While Gordon was suspended for the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, he played his part in Newcastle’s trophy-clinching success by notching two goals and one assist in six appearances in the competition.
Should the Anfield side part company with Diaz, the England international could prove himself as an adequate replacement
