Liverpool fans barely had time to rejoice over Mohamed Salah’s contract extension; the management soon announced that Virgil van Dijk also signed a new contract until 2027.
With two players’ futures tied up, considering their contracts were due to expire this summer, all attention is fully focused on Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 26-year-old footballer posted an interesting story on his Instagram page. Trent tagged Ibrahima Konate and Dominik Szoboszlai, sharing some images of himself training with the team in full force.
Reacting to the photos, one fan wrote: “I’ve convinced myself that Trent has signed a new deal with us.”
Another agreed, adding: “I said it, I’ll say it again. Trent is staying!”
While one promised: “If Trent stays, I’ll forgive him everything.”
Another, more cynical fan, added: “Hope is killing you.”
Liverpool fans continue to believe that the player will not join Real Madrid in the summer, despite all the rumours.
Arne Slot recently confirmed that the English defender has already started training and there is a chance of seeing him on the pitch in the upcoming Premier League match.
“Trent is coming back from injury. He has been training with us this week, he has shown his commitment and shows me what kind of player he is when he is on the pitch,” explained Slot.

“Trent is not ready to start, but if everything goes well, he may end up on the bench,” added Slot.
