Decision made: Liverpool star wants to STAY despite exit rumours

Written by NBA WILLIAMSON

Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa has reportedly decided he wants to stay at the club and fight for his place in Arne Slot’s first-team.

The Reds signed Chiesa from Juventus in the summer, but it’s fair to say the Italy international hasn’t made much of an impact yet, leading to speculation that he could move on this January.

Fans looking for how to buy Liverpool vs Lille tickets might also be wondering if they’ll see Chiesa in action in the upcoming Champions League game, as he’s not had that many opportunities to impress so far in his time at Anfield.

This might be an opportunity for LFC to rotate a little, which might give fans a glimpse of Chiesa, though if he’s left out again we might see yet more rumours about a return to Serie A.

Still, Florian Plettenberg has suggested the Merseyside giants will probably be keeping the 27-year-old, who isn’t pushing to leave.

Discussing the Chiesa situation, Plettenberg said: “At this stage Federico Chiesa still has no intention of leaving Liverpool until the Deadline Day on February 3. He would like to stay at LFC and prove himself. The 27-year-old winger is fully focused on his goals with LFC. Contract until 2028.”

Chiesa has plenty of potential, as he showed for much of his time at Juve, but one issue for him has been staying fit and performing consistently.
