Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson got a straight red card in the Premier League game against Fulham. Robertson made a shocking mistake and got sent off for last-man foul on Harry Wilson.
This, however, doesn’t mean that Robertson will be suspended for Liverpool’s next Premier League game against Spurs. He will instead serve his suspension in the upcoming League Cup quarter-final against Southampton on Wednesday.

This is possible due to the rules governing suspensions in English football. The ban applies to the next domestic fixture in the relevant competition category, which in this case is the League Cup.
However, considering Robertson’s performance in the game against Fulham, Arne Slot might seriously consider benching Andy for the Spurs match anyway.
Arne Slot was clearly not happy with the referee enforcing the rules well enough in Liverpool’s draw with Fulham on Saturday.
Dizz: “Yeah to be honest football has a long way to go in terms of respecting its own rules. Imagine if the shot clock in basketball was just based on feels rather than an actual timer. Because that’s where we are right now.”
