Liverpool’s bid to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is set to extend into next week, with no agreement yet reached on the defender’s £45 million valuation.
The Reds have been in ongoing talks to secure Kerkez, who is expected to provide strong competition to Andy Robertson for the left-back position. However, hopes of finalizing the deal this week have diminished, according to The i Paper.
Sources reveal there remains ‘optimism’ around reaching a deal, but several key issues still need resolving before all parties can agree on terms.
Those close to Kerkez remain confident the transfer will be completed in due course, although Bournemouth are determined to hold firm on their asking price, consistently valuing the player at around £45 million.
Negotiations are being led by Liverpool’s director of football Richard Hughes, who previously worked with Bournemouth, alongside the Cherries’ Simon Francis. The transfer has been in progress since January, with talks intensifying notably over the past week.
