The New York Knicksvery irregular so far this season, fell Wednesday 123-124 before the Chicago Bulls wasting 46 points from the Dominican Karl-Anthony Towns.
The Knicks’ star signing for this season, Towns shined with 18 of 30 in field goals, 6 of 12 in triples and 4 of 8 from the line.
The center also added 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals but lost 4 balls.
The Knicks (5-6) had just beaten the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, silencing Joel Embiid’s debut this season, but this Wednesday they made several mistakes in the outcome that cost them the game against the Bulls.
After trailing by 22 points in the third quarter, the New Yorkers took the lead 123-121 thanks to a basket by Jalen Brunson.
There were only 4.6 seconds left but Josh Hart fouled Coby White’s three-point attempt, so the Chicago player had three free throws and made all three to put the Bulls up 123-124 and only 3.2 left.
Brunson had the opportunity to be the hero of the Big Apple once again, but his shot at the buzzer sailed around the rim until it ended up going out to the sadness of the fans at Madison Square Garden.
Along with Towns, the Knicks had 24 points and 8 assists from Brunson and 20 points and 6 rebounds from Mikal Bridges.
In the Bulls (5-7), the best were Zach LaVine (31 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists), White (22 points) and Nikola Vucevic (19 points and 11 rebounds)
