The organizer of the 2010 South Africa World Cup is arrested for fraud

Who was president of the organizing committee of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and current president of the South African Football Association (SAFA), Danny Jordaanwas arrested this Wednesday for “allegations of fraud and theft worth R1.3 million (€68,000)“, according to the country’s police.

A shadowy figure of Jordaaan who at 73 years old is also being accused of having hired a private security company and a public relations company for his own protection without the authorization of the Federation’s board of directors. An investigation that indicates that he made that move after having been accused in 2017 of sexual assault by a South African singer and former MP. Accusations that he flatly denied regarding events that would have happened 25 years earlier.
