Liverpool transfer news: Reds ‘plan to finalise’ winger deal as Borussia Dortmund star eyed

Liverpool have enjoyed an outstanding season so far under Arne Slot, with the Reds still in the hunt to win four trophies.

Liverpool are six points clear at the top of the Premier League, top of the revamped league phase of the Champions League and still in both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. They have not moved to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window so far and it appears they are focusing on laying the groundwork for summer deals instead.

Several forwards are on Liverpool’s radar, with Mohamed Salah’s future at the club up in the air due to his contract situation, while a club legend could be set for a return to management. With all that in mind, here is some of the latest news from around Anfield.

£10m deal ‘to be finalised’

According to Africa Foot, as per the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are looking to sign Anis Hadj-Moussa from Feyenoord.

Hadj-Moussa has impressed since joining Feyenoord from Belgian club Patro Eisden and the report states that Liverpool ‘plan to finalise’ a €12million (£10m) deal for the winger in the summer.

Liverpool’s head of recruitment Barry is said to be in close contact with the player’s agent, Mohamed Dahmane, although the fee could rise if he continues to star for Feyenoord for the rest of the season.

Reds eye Gittens

Liverpool are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens, according to Christian Falk.

It is claimed that Liverpool, Manchester UnitedChelsea and Bayern Munich are all monitoring the situation, with Gittens expected to leave Dortmund if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

The report states that Dortmund would want €100m (£84m) for the young winger and that they would prefer to sell him to a Premier League club rather than domestic rivals Bayern.

Liverpool legend wants Bolton job

Fowler has managed clubs in Thailand, Australia, India and Saudi Arabia since his retirement and the 49-year-old is keen on taking charge at Bolton. He most recently managed Al Qadsiah in the second-tier of Saudi Arabian football, but was sacked in October 2023 despite enjoying an unbeaten start to the season.
